Photography is about people.

I am Bastiaan, the photographer behind Bossie Fotografie, based in Groningen, The Netherlands. Most of my photographs start with simply walking through the city. I look for people, expressions and moments that catch my attention — often completely unplanned. Sometimes I ask someone if I can make their portrait. Sometimes the moment is gone before I can even raise the camera. That unpredictability is part of what I love about photography. My work sits somewhere between street photography and portraiture. What connects them is the same thing: real people, real character and real moments. Groningen is home, but the camera travels with me wherever I go.
